School of rock with hatton musical theatre - 2025

What a wonderful experience it was to work as the Musical Director for School of Rock with Hatton Musical Theatre! From start to finish, from the rehearsal room to the stage, from WhatsApp chats to the band pit, the vibes were nothing but positive.

Hatton are a smooth-running society - everything felt organised, creative, and full of energy. Being trusted to do my job as a creative and for the freedom to bring ideas to life was an absolutely joy. So many members of the cast got involved in the jobs needed, such as admin, props, set, costumes, hair, make up and more! The props and set were insane; all made from scratch by with so much thought, personal touches, and hidden Easter eggs throughout. The attention to detail was unreal. Real team work making the dream work!

The creative team and the cast were fabulous; I made new friends, reunited with old ones, and spent my time in the most productive (and fun!) way possible, especially with only one rehearsal a week until the Sunday rehearsals started. The commitment and passion from everyone involved really showed.

A huge shoutout for the incredible photography, social media posts and artwork. They looked so professional and full of personality and purpose.

And of course, the backstage and tech teams were ridiculously organised and helpful. Having worked closely with many other tech and sound teams, these guys were flawless and professional - supportive every step of the way, not just during show week but throughout the entire process, especially in the lead up when I had all the questions and requests! A special mention to the chaperones too - so helpful, lovely, and supportive.

Last but absolutely not least, this gorgeous band were such a joy to work with, full of banter, laughs, and top-tier musicianship. I honestly can’t wait to work with them all again!

Overall… so much fun, so much talent, and so many memories made. Watch this space to what comes next with Hatton - the start of a very special performing arts relationship and I can’t wait!
